Comment on a youtube video interviewing George Will:
More than 40% of the population of the USA are self described "Born Again Christians." These people fervently believe that the Biblical second coming will occur within their lifetimes. This irrational belief system is so powerful, that even the statistically certain scenario of global warming and a 6th mass extinction event on planet Earth seems irrelevant to them. These self described "Born Again Christians" are the core of the Republican party. In fact, the Republican party has become nothing more than a disguise for them to act politically. This philosophy of "Born Again Christianity" is totally unique to the USA and no other country on Earth has a sizable, or in most cases even "countable," population that subscribes to this belief system.
