Eat Tree Nuts

Eat tree nuts
And be strong.
Dry, or salty,
They last long.

Moderation in all Things

The people who say, "Moderation in all Things" are rarely found to have the hobbies of Painting, Piano, Percussion, Pole Dancing, Politics, or Physical Endurance tests.  However, they do have neatly arranged living rooms, are well groomed, and brush their teeth regularly.

"Wallet, Keys, Phone"

New Mantra for inner peace.  Repeat these words to yourself:

"Wallet, Keys, Phone"

Because if you know where these three items are and you are in possession of them,
then you will have greater peace of mind.

Whenever you leave the house, or leave your car, repeat this mantra:

"Wallet, Keys, Phone"

If you can easily locate all three items then you are doing OK.
You can relax a little, but don't let go of:

"Wallet, Keys, Phone"

So, remember.

Just remember:

"Wallet, Keys, Phone"

And you will have

Inner Peace.

Twelve Hour Coffee Fast

The Twelve Hour Coffee Fast is very simple; just don't drink coffee for twelve hours.  If you start your Fast immediately after dinner, you can sleep through most of it during the night and wake refreshed and ready to drink more coffee. You hardly even notice you are deprived. The physical advantages are minimal, but the social effects are tremendous.  When people start talking about diet and exercise I say I practice a Twelve Hour Coffee Fast on a regular basis, and they all seem very impressed; until they find out what it actually is.  Most people are so busy talking about themselves, however they never really stop to ask.

I do suggest trying the Twelve Hour Coffee Fast.  Whether or not it actually does improve my health, it sure does make me FEEL HEALTHY in public.

Food for Thought

Most people are more concerned with "Eating and Food" than they are with "Honesty or Truth"; and probably for good reason...

Logic

It is ironic, that although "logic and logical thought" is one of the few characteristics of Mankind that separates us from all of the animals, there is almost no subject on Earth that is of less interest to the common man.

Universal Truth

There are no Universal Truths except in mathematics.

All other Truths are relative to the space, time, and perspective of the viewer.

Found Object Art

Found Object Art
By Bill Schaeffer

On September 9, 2016 at the Animation Guild Gallery from 6pm – 9pm

Animation Guild 839
1105 N. Hollywood Way
Burbank, CA 91505

William “Bill” Schaeffer will present a series of assembly art pieces and drawings from his personal collection.  The show will consist of three types of artworks: 1. Found Object Assembly Art.  Bill finds many unique items on the ground in his ordinary life like playing cards, toys, and strings of pearls and he likes to incorporate these into assembly art work. 2. Flashing light L.E.D. Art.  Bill likes to use flashing L.E.D. lights and bicycle flashers to create dynamic kinetic art.  3. Completed paintings. Bill will purchase unfinished paintings at GoodWill and then “finish the painting” with magic markers without destroying the original unknown artist’s efforts.

Bird of the Day

Follow me on atwaterpub@twitter.com

I send a picture a day if I have free time. Right now it is Birds. Before that I sent a letter of "The DADA Alphabet" every day. When I finish the series of Birds, I have a series of Flowers, and then a series of Vegetables before I start something else. DADA Art is essentially nonsense and THAT is the only thing that really seems appropriate to society right now. After all, "If Logic and Reason has brought the world to THIS state of affairs (Global Warming, Threat of Nuclear War, Epidemics, Overpopulation, Addiction, Crime, and Obesity) WHAT GOOD is LOGIC AND REASON?" The nonsense of DADA challenges the basic assumptions that lead the entire world to the brink of death and destruction. What more can we lose than the entire world?

The Bird of the Day today is The Parrot

The Real Problem

A response to an article questioning the mental health of one of the presidential candidates:

The unspoken inference of the article would be: If Trump is "mentaly unbalanced" and he got such a majority of the vote in the republican party and in social media, isn't the Average American "mentally unbalanced" to find so much sympathy with his views. In fact, isn't ALL of American Society a little "mentally unbalanced" compared to the traditional social structures that humans are used to living within. There are presently 77,000 people living in tents on the streets and sidewalks of Los Angeles. Isn't this ALSO a symptom of the mental unbalance of our society? 77,000 homeless in Los Angeles alone. There are presently an average of 117 suicides in USA America EVERY SINGLE DAY. Isn't this also a symptom of the mental unbalance of American society?  Almost 20 active service personel commit suicide EVERY SINGLE DAY. Aren't these also symptoms of a USA society that is "mentally unbalanced". Look at the statistics for Divorce, Alcoholism, Opiate Addiction, Obesity, Domestic Violence, and Cigarette smoking -- aren't these also symptomatic of a society that is "mentally unbalanced?" Almost 10% of the Male population is in prison, or on parole. For the past fifty years, the USA has spent half of the GNP every year on WAR and Weapons of WAR. This is more money spent than the next seven nations combined. This is a society devoted to killing and death. The real problem is not Donald Trump. The real problem is USA America itself.

How to take a good photo

How to take a good photo

1. Think kindly of the subject and imagine them in their best possible manner.

2. Avoid direct sunlight.  Look for even lighting with no bright spots or shadows, perhaps in the shade of a building outdoors.

3. Find a plain background, a wall, a bush, or the side of a tent or truck.

4. Make sure the subject's hair looks good and their clothes hang naturally.

5. Be pleasant and encourage the subject to be comfortable.

6. Take at least five photos in different poses.  That way, at least one photo will be acceptable.

7. Move quickly and lightly.  Thank the subject when you hand the camera phone back to them.

We make our own future

We make our own future
We cast our own dice
It is our own thought that makes the events to happen
And brings them forth into being
Even the movements of the planets on their trajectories
Are affected by thought
For there would be no universe,
If there was no one there to watch it
