Just remember

Just remember when you hear the air raid sirens

Just remember when you are running for cover

Just remember when you are all alone with no where to go,

Just remember when the bombs start falling,

Just remember when they start shipping the young boys over seas,

Just remember when you see the factories working double shifts to keep up,

Just remember when there is no electricity, no gasoline, and no food,

Just remember when you are freezing cold, and you can't talk, and you can't hardly breathe,

There is no love.

There is no love in the world.

Until then, there is no need to remember anything in particular...

Reality

Nobody argues about Oxygen.

Nobody debates the existence of gravity.

Nobody doubts the reality of an electron, or a galaxy.

It seems that only the imaginary beliefs, that cannot be proven true or false, are worth fighting over.

What's going on?

When some one says, "How are you?"  or "What's new?"

They are really saying, "I don't want to be bothered."

If they are interested in your life, they will ask about a specific detail.

Medical extortion

The "for profit" privatization of Medical Services is similar to extortion.

In both cases a helpless victim is taken advantage of for commercial profit. The victim has no alternative except to cooperate.

The main difference is that in the Medical Services industry, the patient occasionally gets healed.

Lost and Found

The poker chip and puzzle piece were found in the parking lot at the Goodwill Store on Hollywood Boulevard.

The three leaf foliage was found, on the sidewalk, while running to audience work on a popular game show.  I was late.

One gallon of gasoline

Burning one gallon of gasoline puts 19.2 pounds of Carbon Dioxide in the atmosphere.

A gallon of gasoline weighs about 6.7 pounds.  The gasoline is largely a string of Carbon atoms with a few atoms of Hydrogen attached.

During combustion, 12.5 pounds of Oxygen O2 is removed from the air, and combined with the Carbon C in the gasoline.  Then, it is reintroduced into the atmosphere as Carbon Dioxide CO2 in the exhaust.   The Hydrogen atoms also combine with the Oxygen to form water H2O as another by product.

~

This is a fairly simple process.  It will not take much effort to double check the basic chemical reaction using wikipedia or another internet information resource.

suicide

Apparently, September 10 is suicide awareness day.  I did not know that.

Here are a few facts that I did know:

1. Every single day of the year in The United States of America an average of 123 people commit suicide.

2. Every single day of the year in The United States of America over 20 active service personnel commit suicide.

3. Over 40,000 people kill themselves every year in The United States.

The thing I want to know is: Who really cares?
