Neal Cassidy was the inspiration for Dean Moriarty in the Book "On the Road" by Jack Kerouac. Jack Kerouac and Neal Cassidy took a legendary cross country road trip that inspired the book. "On the Road" is a legendary novel.
AND THEN, ten years later, Neal Cassidy is the driver of the bus named "Furthur" in "The Electric Koolaid Acid Test" by Tom Wolfe
How improbable is THAT??? The same person is the "driver" in the two most defining novels of the two cultural movements. "On the Road" and "Electric Koolaid Acid Test" Remarkable man. Remarkable life.
