Talk about concepts and ideas

Most people discuss concepts or ideas because they want to see if you "have agreement" or "belong to the same group"  -- if you share the same ideas and concepts.  Most people have no actual interest in the concepts themselves; the accuracy, the relevance, the truth, or the significance of these basic ideas.  They don't want to know how the concepts were developed or what they really refer to.  They just want to know if you are in the "same group" as they are.  If you have the same ideas.  The concepts are just used as a "badge of membership," and not as a "mark of understanding."  Curious.
