Keep Building Walls

It is a curious fact that one of the indicators of civilization in the fossil record is the existence of walls and fences. A significant defining characteristic of human civilization is the wall. It is my theory that early humans built walls and fences for thousands of years before someone finally got the bright idea to connect the walls with a roof and make a building.

One of the main conflicts between Native Americans and European Settlers is that in Native American agriculture there were no fences in the fields. When Europeans brought the pig to America, these pigs dug up all the Native American crops. When the Native Americans complained, they were told by the Europeans, "Build a fence."  This was in James town circa 1620. Check your history. This was one of the main conflicts that lead to the famous "Jamestown Massacre" of 1622.
