We are at the beginning of what I call "the ten thousand year dark ages for humanity". Most of what we understand to be human history and human culture will be swept away and lost. In ten thousand years a "life centered" distributed information economy will work in harmony with Earth's natural biosphere and the rest of the solar, or planetary, economy. People that are alive at that time will enjoy their lives and live in a realistic spirit of love and peace. Suicide and homelessness will be abhorrent and unheard of. We ourselves will not live to see these final results. We will not even witness all the initial breakdown of current social organizations which itself will take well over 500 years. All we really have to look forward to is chaos and darkness. All we have for nourishment is our own hope and ideals. Good Luck.

Supporting DATA: 1. It is common knowledge that we are in the middle of a mass species die off, a major life extinction event on the planet Earth. This has only happened a few times (three?) in the 4.5 billion year history of the planet. 2. When the polar ice caps are fully melted, the oceans will rise 400 feet, 3. (just for fun) Burning one gallon of gasoline removes 12 pounds of oxygen from the air and replaces it with 19.2 pounds of carbon dioxide. This is a fact.
ReplyDeleteThe "beginning" and the "end" of the Age of dinosaurs were both occasioned by a mass extinction event on the Planet Earth. We are in the middle of one right now. Presently, one third of agricultural products are pollinated by the air, one third are pollinated by birds and one third are pollinated by bees. The bee hives are currently "under attack" and bee populations are experiencing mass die-off events. This is so critical that some bee owners keep their hives on trucks and drive them from client to client in the agricultural states. If the bees die off completely, we could well have a human mass starvation event as one third of all agricultural products on Earth will not be produced. It is not really economically feasible to pollinate these plants by hand with tweezers and an eyedropper. They will just die.
